CPG - Anything in a super market
A niche in the advertising industry, food packaging offers the challenge of getting people to buy on-the-spot and at the point-of-purchase. The design has to be exactly what the customer is looking for and be clear in presenting the food specifications for FDA compliance. The preparation directions should be easy to understand. The package needs to be dynamic enough to fly off the selves when stacked against the competition. The final look needs to be appropriate to cross all product categories, adaptable to a skus sizes and quick to view the different flavor offerings. A variety of printing methods gets involved depending on the
product category so integrity of the design with respect to each printing method is essential. It's a tall order.
With that in mind, I have done over 3000 skus and virtually anything you can find is a supermarket. Add to that point, my work sells. The redesign for a private label supermarket chain expected sales to capture a 19% market share as a result of the redesign. The status quo design captured 16%. The redesign resulted in a 22% market share for the largest privately owned supermarket chain in Southern California. That's a lot of cereal and soup cans.
